Biography and Research Interests
Professor Holland's research interests include defense and military decision making, the politics of weapons procurement, and gender and the U.S. Military. She is the author of Weapons Under Fire: Risk and Uncertainty in Military Hardware Development (Garland Publishers, 1997), and co-author with Robert Hoover of The Politics of MX: A New Direction in American Weapons Procurement? Westview Press, 1985). Professor Holland is also the author several book chapter and numerous journal articles in Journal of Policy History, Armed Forces & Society, Journal of Energy Law and Policy, acquisition Review Quarterly, Social Science Journal , and Nevada Public Affairs Review .
Professor Holland has received several research grants including a National Science Foundation Award, The College of Social and Behavioral Science Dean's Research and Development Fund Grant, University Faculty Fellowship Award, University Research Committee Grant, and the U.S. Department of Education Fund for the Improvement of Education Award. She is a Fellow of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces Society.
