Edmund Fong (Ph.D., New School for Social Research, 2008) Assistant Professor. Edmund Fong is an assistant professor at the University of Utah with a joint appointment in the Department of Political Science and the Ethnic Studies Program. His research interests include critical race studies, post-structuralist and postcolonial theory, American political development, and engagements between political theory and American political culture. He has particular interests in assessing the constitutive role of identifications in political formations. His dissertation, Multicultural Exorcisms: Cultural Pluralism and the Remains of Race, focused on the role of race in haunting American reconceptualizations of cultural pluralism in the post-Civil Rights Era. His recent article, "Reconstructing the 'Problem' of Race," is forthcoming in Political Research Quarterly.
