(The following instructions were provided by Brian Frank Roberts)
Accessing articles from off-portal computers:
There are two ways to do it.
1)
Set
up your home computer/laptop with a proxy. The instructions to do this
are
here: http://www.lib.utah.edu/information/remote-old.html. The advantage of this is that you it saves a
few steps. It will likely allow you to access it via the direct links
in the
Notes as your computer will automatically seek access to the university
network
and prompt you for the password at that time (mine does anyways) or you
can
actually set it up with cookies to just log you in automatically.
2)
When
accessing the Marriott Library page, go to “Articles Databases.” You
will be
prompted to enter your UU ID and password. When you do you will be
taken to a
page listing all the databases. Most of the articles for this class
(unless
they are published within the last few years) will be in the JSTOR
database.
Click on the “J” button, go down to “JSTOR-Arts & Sciences
Collection.” This
will take you into the JSTOR database and you can either browse for the
article
by publication and volume number or do a search. (you
can also get to this same place by
logging into your Campus Information System account, clicking on
“Libraries
& Research” and then clicking on “Databases” under the “Find
Articles”
heading.)
